The Lithuanian Armed Forces hosted the inaugural FPV drone tactical competition as part of the fourth annual Drone Day at Brig. Gen. Kazys Veverskis Training Area. Organised by the Unmanned Systems Training Centre, the competition represents a significant step toward integrating FPV drones into Lithuania’s military doctrine and developing specialised drone units to meet the demands of modern warfare.
RSI Europe’s Shpak FPV drones were widely used by participants and have already become an integral part of the Armed Forces’ evolving training programmes. Drawing on extensive frontline experience from Ukraine, the Shpak platform continues to evolve with direct feedback from operators, enhancing reliability and resistance to electronic interference.
RSI Europe supported the competition by awarding Shpak drone kits to the three best individual pilots, reinforcing its commitment to skills development and operational readiness.
“After Ukraine, Lithuania is emerging as a European leader in drone development and integration,” said RSI Europe’s Communications and Marketing Manager Liudas Abišala. “Our mission is to contribute directly to the safety and defence of our country by delivering combat-proven technologies and working alongside our partners to ensure that Lithuania stays ahead on tomorrow’s battlefield.”
The event also included a conference on unmanned systems development priorities, sector growth, and collaboration opportunities, as well as an exhibition showcasing a wide range of Lithuanian-made drones, counter-drone systems, and components. With 31 companies represented, Drone Day highlighted the rapid growth and strategic importance of Lithuania’s unmanned systems ecosystem — one of the Ministry of National Defence’s priority areas for strengthening national security and technological innovation.
