On 30 May 2025, RSI Europe welcomed Andrius Kubilius, European Commissioner for Defence and Space, at its Vilnius office. This marked the first engagement in his intensive official visit to Lithuania.
“We were pleased to set the tone for the day and initiate a dialogue on how innovative and ambitious Lithuanian defence companies are already shaping Europe’s defence future,” said Tomas Milašauskas, CEO of RSI Europe.
During the visit, discussions focused on Lithuania’s potential to become a key player in the emerging European defence ecosystem, practical steps to integrate defence innovations, and RSI Europe’s capabilities to contribute to strengthening Lithuania’s and NATO allies’ defence.
Commissioner Kubilius emphasized: “Engaging with technology enthusiasts and representatives of young Lithuanian companies makes it clear that Lithuania is becoming a serious player in Europe’s next-generation defence landscape.”
The Commissioner’s visit included meetings with the President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, members of the Space Technology Cluster, and representatives of companies including RSI Europe. Topics discussed ranged from the White Paper on Europe’s defence future to the strengthening of defence industry capabilities, leveraging preferential loans under the recently approved SAFE Regulation, and regulatory simplification for defence enterprises.
